Around the 1950s is when country music began to really turn into a profitable section of the music industry. The movement was centered completely around Nashville, Tennessee. Chet Atkins and Billy Sherrill began producing the sound that made country music more accessible to a mainstream audience, helping the genre to experience a true revival.

When artists like Johnny Cash and Hank Williams came onto the scene in the 1950s, people began to take notice. Songs like “I Walk The Line” and “Tear in My Beer’ really started to hit home with music fans and money began to flow as people bought up records from these artists. Before these legendary singer became known, country music was in the midst of a serious downfall, mainly because there were no memorable songs or artists on the market at the time.
